What is the Golden Visa and who gets it?

The Golden Visa allows you and your family to stay in Tanzania or Zanzibar for a long time. As a rule, it applies to up to six people – typically parents and up to four financially dependent children. The visa in the passport must be renewed every 2 years.

The prerequisite is a real estate investment of USD 100,000 or more. You are entitled to the visa as long as you are the owner of the property. The visa is entered in the passport and must be renewed every two years.

How many people is the Golden Visa for?

The Golden Visa is available for up to 6 people. As a rule, these are the parents and up to 4 financially dependent children up to the age of 20. The only requirement is an investment in an apartment or house of at least US$ 100,000 (in about 91,000 €). The entitlement to the visa exists as long as you own the house or apartment.

Children over the age of 18 can no longer obtain a permanent visa due to their parents' investment. Either you can make your own investment in your name or stay in Tanzania or Zanzibar with your parents with another visa. For example, a student visa or a visa in connection with a job can also be considered.

What are the costs and conditions for the Golden Visa?

Renewal fees are charged every two years:

approx. 500 USD for the main person
approx. 50 USD per additional person

Children can only use the visa as part of their family up to a certain age. After that, they will need their own solution, such as a student or work visa or their own investment.
